For those of you that dont know, vaulting is a combo of dance, gymnastics and horseback riding all in one. Its a ton of fun and somthing that my friend and i have gotten the chance to do lately. Two of the "tricks" that we have learned so far are you basic kneeling and standing on the horse. Sounds easy and is while the horse is standing still, but as soon as the horse takes a step you balance is put to the test. My friend and i ride double and it is a ton of fun learning to trust each other and the horse. We have both succesfully completed these tricks and are ready to learn more. I might post pictures soon, not sure though.
HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY Y'ALL!! :)

From the Mouths of Babes.....
Today i helped teach lessons at the ranch i volunteer at. i love it! well today we had three classes, easy no big deal right? WRONG! i swear theses monday classes have the most attitude and can be so hard to work with! well after one fit had been thrown because a little girl couldnt ride the horse she wanted and making it through two of the three classes it was time for our last and biggest class. In this big class there is a little girl who is five, we'll call her macy. well macy, because she is so small rides our smallest horse josey. josey is about 28 years old and wouldnt hurt a fly. We let macy ride bareback today (without a saddle) and she loved it, she thought it was great to trot around and see that she could hang on. we almost lost her a couple of times but she hung on. Oh, i should mention, right before she got on she looked at me and goes "hey, hey, hey you in the pink, i know your name, its katie" and i was like yep. well that was the begining of macy and her attitude...anyway we she got off she goes watch i can do and sure enough drops herself to the ground puts the lead rope on the horse and heads to the barn. once in the barn she proceeds to show me how she can take of the reins and bridle and insturcted me to watch her horse. her exact words would be "katie put my helmet up and watch josey, ill put the halter on when i get back" and with that she marched off to put the bridle up. well not thinking it would be a big deal i set her helmet down and put the halter on josey and tied her up...WRONG MOVE!!!! next thing i knew macy was standing next to me saying "did i tell you to do that? NO! i told you to watch her...watch me do it" then she took the halter off and did it herself. then i watched as little ity bitty macy kept little ity bitty josey in line as she brushed and fed her treats. then after completing all her "horse chores" she came up to the instructor and i told us her sister was not here and she needed somthing to do. well the instructor looked over at her stall and noticed the helmet (yes the same one i set down earlier) sitting on the floor and asked macy to go put it up. macy put her hands on her hips, stuck her hip out and goes "katie i told you to put that up and you threw it on the floor" i laughed and said well too bad it doesnt fit my head because then i would have to put it up, but since you used it you need to put it up. macy was determined she was not going to it so the instructor turned her around and took her to the stall, put the helmet in her hand and took her to the tack room to put it up. by this time all the other kids were gone and we were still waiting on macy's sister to pick her up. finally we see the little blue car with "only one handle" as macy said pull up. we took macy and her car seat to the car. What a night? Where do these kids come up with this? well i guess when your the youngest of six, you have to have some attitude, right?

Trio
Today at church, I got the honors of working with the babies in place of one of my teachers. While I love working with the babies, today was......interesting. We (the pastors wife and I) had nine babies. Yes, you read that right, NINE!!!! All was fine and fun while they were happy, but they weren't well it was a different story. It was as if they planned to all scream at once or for one to scream really loud when six were asleep. FOR REAL!! COME ON PEOPLE! Anyway, at one point I had a baby in each arm feeding them bottles and other bouncing in my lap. I was so afraid I was going to lose a baby, yet I was so impressed. I could so have triplets when i am older. ;) anyway after pleasing three of the nine babies at once three different babies decided to thank me. One puked on me, another jerked my earring and the other had a diaper explotion. Someone please tell me why cloth diapers are coming BACK!! I dont understand this...a) its nasty b) its a pain and c) ITS NASTY! anyway that was my church adventure, i loved it and would do it all again next week. as for now i am tired and cant wait to see what events God has in store for me this week :)

Let's Try this....
So everyone has always told me I should write a book with all of the adventures I have....well I decided that a blog might be more fun. I work at a theraputic riding center in the area and between that and the awesome friends I have somthing is always going on....
Last night, I was at the barn, we had finished our chores and still had 30 to 45 minutes left till class started so we decided to take one of the dogs swimming....well this turned into an hour long class and we were late for the lesson. In the process we ran with the gator to jump in the back so we would not get left, sat in the pasture and refused to move and did cart wheels on the hay bales. In the end, we all got closer and had a ton of fun doing it... :)
